Ashley Barrett

Managing Director

With over 12 years of experience designing and selling high-quality Australian-made sheds, Ashley keeps the process practical, clear, and focused on the right building for each site.

True Blue Sheds supplies Hobart and surrounding Tasmania areas with Australian-made steel-frame sheds, carports, barns, garages, and farm buildings. Each building can be customised to suit residential, commercial, and rural properties.

Our sheds are designed around your location, intended use, wind region, and site conditions. If our standard catalogue options do not match your needs, our team can help shape a practical custom design using our 3D shed design process.

As a ShedSafe accredited supplier, we use Australian BlueScope steel with trusted COLORBOND and ZINCALUME cladding options, backed by engineering documentation and practical support through the quoting process.

Building in Hobart: what to think about

Hobart surprises people twice: it's Australia's second-driest capital at 463 mm - kunanyi's rain shadow does the work - and it's genuinely cold, with frosty winters and a solar figure that's the lowest on our list. Cold plus even modest damp means condensation, so insulation and ventilation are baseline for any shed you'll work or store in through winter. The other Hobart constant is terrain: from Glenorchy to Kingston the flat blocks ran out decades ago, so sloping-site footings and access for the build are routine parts of the conversation here. Bushfire ratings apply on the bush fringes. Wind is a routine A4; approvals run through your local council - Hobart, Glenorchy, Kingborough, Clarence or Brighton.
