COLORBOND® shed products are a result of 50 years of Australian research and development. The resulting technology gives the steel it’s long-lasting performance when subjected to the harsh Australian weather conditions.

The product comprises five speciality layers – steel base, a metallic coating incorporating Activate® technology, a pretreatment layer to aid adhesion of subsequent coatings, a primer, and finally a topcoat of specially developed, exterior grade paint which is baked on to provide resistance to chipping, flaking and blistering.

The result is an end product compliant with to Australian Standards (AS1397 and AS/NZS 2728) and built to look good and last for many years, virtually maintenance free.

A Colorbond shed is a steel building that is clad in Colorbond steel materials. Colorbond is a brand owned by BlueScope and is a range of pre-painted steel specifically designed for outdoor structures, such as sheds, roofs, and fences.

We use BlueScope’s range of Colorbond colours and Zincalume for roof cladding. We have two types of roof cladding profiles: Corodek and Trimclad. Corodek is a popular corrugated roofing profile made of Colorbond® steel and Zincalume® steel. It has a Base Metal Thickness (BMT) of .42mm.

Trimclad is a 5-ribbed deep pan profile suitable for sheds and industrial buildings. It is available in both Colourbond and Zincalume, with a BMT of .42mm and a total coat thickness (TCT) of .47mm.

It’s important to note that cladding can be used on both the roof and walls, giving you the flexibility to mix and match the two types for your ideal construction.

We use a combination of C-Section and RHS columns when constructing our carports, depending on the size and style. For the rafters and eave purlins, we usually choose C-Section. We use strong top hats to attach the cladding to the rafters securely. Our C-Section purlins are made from GALVASPAN® steel.
