Can I live in a shed home full-time?

Yes—if designed as a Class 1a dwelling and approved by your local council, our shed homes can be used as permanent residences.

Do I need council approval to build a shed home?

Yes. Shed homes require building approval as liveable dwellings. Our team can supply site-specific engineering documents to support your application.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery usually takes 4–7 weeks, depending on your location and proximity to our 26 national consolidation centres.

What size shed homes can you build?

We custom design all shed homes—whether you need a compact 6m x 10m footprint or a larger 12m x 20m with two stories, we can help.

Can I include plumbing and electrical in my shed home?

Yes. As Class 1a dwellings, shed homes must be designed to accommodate plumbing and electrical systems. It’s best to design your initial building layout with a building designer as they can walk you through everything that’s needed to meet class 1a standards under the building code.

What is a Class 1a Dwelling?

A Class 1a building (as defined by the NCC) refers to a single residential dwelling—like a house, granny flat or shed home—that is detached or semi-detached. It must meet strict construction, ventilation, and fire safety standards to be approved as a legal residence.
