Colorbond sheds
A Colorbond shed is a steel building covered in Colorbond steel materials. Colorbond is a brand that BlueScope owns, and it offers a variety of pre-painted steel options made explicitly for quality outdoor structures like sheds, building cladding and fences.
Storage sheds
A storage shed, sometimes called a garden shed, is a small, enclosed structure to protect and organise belongings from the elements and potential theft.
Shed homes / Livable sheds.
Shed homes have become super popular of late. A shed home, also known as a shed house, is a type of dwelling built within the shell of a shed structure. Essentially, it combines a shed’s affordability and quick construction time with all the amenities of a comfortable home.
Skillion sheds
Our single-slope design provides a sleek aesthetic, simple construction, and cost-effectiveness, making them the perfect choice for outdoor storage. Enjoy increased headroom, efficient drainage, and versatility seamlessly integrating with different architectural styles.
Car sheds
Shield your beloved car from the harsh elements! Our robust steel structures offer ultimate protection against rain, sun, wind, and hail. Whether you need a single-car haven or a spacious multi-car garage, we have the perfect car shed solution.
Farm sheds
A steel farm shed is a robust, weatherproof structure to store essential farm equipment, garden tools, and materials. It offers reliable protection against the elements, ensuring your valuable assets are safe and secure.
Two roof styles to choose from
Our styles include gable and skillion, also known as single-slop roofs. You can find a detailed explanation of each one below.
Skillion roofs
This style is also referred to as a shed or lean-to roof. It is characterised by a single slope, giving the roof a slanted appearance. This minimalist design is standard in modern homes and small outbuildings like sheds and standalone garages.
Gable roofs
This is a classic and commonly used roof style. It is easily recognised by its triangular shape. It is ideal for areas with heavy snowfall, as the steep slope allows the snow to slide off easily.
There are eight roof pitches to choose from
Our easy-to-assemble kits are of all sizes, with 5, 10, 15, 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5, and 30-degree roof pitches.
The angle of your shed roof, known as the roof pitch, plays a significant role in its functionality and appearance.
Ensuring that the chosen pitch adheres to local building codes, complements the selected roofing material, and provides the desired space is essential.

DIY Sheds made with Aussie toughness in mind
BlueScope Australian Steel is a leading steel manufacturer and supplier in Australia and Asia-Pacific. As a part of the global BlueScope Steel company, we offer a wide range of high-quality steel products at competitive prices.
Our sheds and garages are proudly constructed using durable, galvanised, 100% Australian BlueScope steel C-sections and connection plates. These materials are pre-punched, making them ready for easy DIY assembly. To ensure the longevity of your garage, we use heavy-duty knee and apex connection plates made from thick galvanised steel.
We only use authentic Colorbond and Zinalume cladding on our sheds.
- COLORBOND® steel: Pre-painted steel for roofing, walling, and fencing.
- ZINCALUME® steel: Zinc/aluminium alloy-coated steel for long-lasting protection and durability.
A brief history of Bluescope steel
BlueScope Steel has a deep connection to the Australian steel industry. It was initially a part of BHP Billiton, but in 2002, it became a separate entity called BHP Steel. The following year, it rebranded itself as BlueScope. Over the years, through acquiring other companies and implementing innovative ideas, BlueScope has become a top supplier of flat steel products in the region.
BlueScope is dedicated to both innovation and sustainability. They are constantly developing the most advanced technologies and processes to remain a significant player in the global steel industry.
Shed columns, rafters, girts and purlins
For the more technically minded, you might be interested in more information about our structures. The columns act as vertical pillars, providing the foundation and support for the entire structure. Spanning column to column, the rafters form the sloping roofline and carry the weight of the roofing materials. Girts, running horizontally along the walls, offer support for the cladding and stability against wind loads. Finally, purlins, placed perpendicular to the rafters, create a grid-like framework that supports the roof covering.
C-Sections
C-section BlueScope steel is a type of steel purlin made from GALVASPAN® steel. These purlins are used to support roofs and walls. The name “C-section” refers to the shape of the steel, which resembles a “C” with three sides. While this type of column may be weaker than others, it offers a cost advantage.
Z-Sections
BlueScope Steel Limited owns the trademark for Z-section purlins, typically manufactured using GALVASPAN® steel. Z purlins are horizontal beams that support buildings’ roof and wall joists, commonly found in industrial and agricultural settings. These purlins are known for their strength and ability to bear heavy loads.
Top Hats
This unique metal profile has a distinctive shape resembling an inverted U, with a flat top and flanges that provide excellent strength and stability. The top hat is made from galvanised steel, such as ZINCALUME® or COLORBOND®, ensuring long-lasting performance.
Top hats are very versatile and are used in many applications. They can be used as roof purlins, girts for walls, bracing for stability, and battens for ventilation. Despite their lightweight design, top hats are impressively strong, making them a cost-effective choice for many projects. It is always advisable to consult a professional for the optimal installation of top hats.
Only the best cladding is good enough.
Yes, we only use authentic Colorbond and Zinalume cladding for our cladding. We rely on trusted brands like BlueScope Steel. Using ZINCALUME® and COLORBOND® sheeting and raingoods ensures that our steel buildings are built to last. These products come with a guarantee of up to 15 years.
What is Colorbond cladding?
Colorbond cladding is a pre-painted steel commonly used for roofing, walling, and fencing. It is manufactured by BlueScope Steel, a renowned steel manufacturer based in Australia.
Two of the critical features of Colorbond® cladding are its versatility and durability. It can be used in a wide range of projects, whether it is for a residential home or a commercial building. The material is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and resist corrosion.
Colorbond cladding requires minimal maintenance. Once installed, it does not require regular painting or staining, reducing the overall maintenance costs for homeowners and businesses.
Colorbond cladding looks fantastic. It comes in various colours and finishes, allowing homeowners and builders to choose the option that best suits their design preferences. This means that Colorbond cladding provides functional benefits and enhances the overall appearance of the building.
Colorbond cladding is a versatile and durable material widely used in residential and commercial projects.
Our cladding options
We offer two types of roof cladding. The first is Corodek, a traditional and widely preferred corrugated roofing profile. It has a Base Metal Thickness (BMT) of .42 and is available in both Colorbond and Zincalume options.
The second profile we offer is Trimclad, a 5-ribbed deep pan profile. It is particularly suitable for sheds and industrial buildings. Trimclad is available in both Colourbond and Zincalume options. It has a BMT of .42mm and a total coat thickness of (TCT) .47mm.
Trimclad
Trimclad, manufactured by BlueScope Steel, is a custom-length roofing and wall cladding made of high-tensile steel. It stands out with its bold trapezoidal ribs and subtle fluting in the pans, setting it apart from other cladding options in terms of its unique look.
Corodek
Corodek Cladding is a specialised type of corrugated roofing and wall cladding. This product is made from high-tensile steel and is well-known for its traditional corrugated profile.
